Neurofeedback

Clinical Neurofeedback in Asheville & Throughout North Carolina

Clinical Neurofeedback Guided by Assessment, Not Guesswork

Neurofeedback is a noninvasive form of brain training that uses real-time EEG information to help individuals develop more effective patterns of brain and nervous-system regulation.

At Asheville Counseling & Wellness Center, neurofeedback is provided as a clinical treatment service, rather than as a generic or self-directed brain-training program.

Treatment begins by understanding the individual — including symptoms, clinical history, cognitive functioning, treatment goals, and patterns of brain activity.

This information is then used to develop an individualized neurofeedback treatment plan.

ACWC provides comprehensive clinical neurofeedback from our Asheville practice, with home-based training available to appropriately selected patients throughout North Carolina.

This allows patients outside the Asheville area to access specialized clinical neurofeedback without traveling to Asheville multiple times each week.

Our Clinical Approach May Include

  • Clinical neurofeedback evaluation
  • QEEG brain mapping
  • Attention testing
  • Cognitive assessment when indicated
  • Standardized symptom measures
  • Psychological or behavioral measures when appropriate
  • Individualized neurofeedback protocol development
  • Home neurofeedback training
  • Ongoing professional monitoring
  • Review of training data
  • Protocol modifications
  • Repeat testing and outcome measurement

The goal is not simply to complete neurofeedback sessions.

We want to answer:

What are we trying to change?
How should we train it?
Is treatment producing meaningful improvement?
